BE THE DIFFERENCE
FEELINGS AND CONFIDENCE
Our human nature is to feel shame about things that others do not approve of. It hurts our confidence levels and we are left to wonder what people might think of us. Quite often, we are comparing ourselves to others. They have a “better” job, a “better” house or car, over all they are just a “better” more beautiful person. When we do this, we are only hurting ourselves, and quite honestly, that person that you are comparing yourself to is probably doing the exact same thing to some other person.
QUARKS AND PERSONALITY
Let’s be honest, we as a human race have our individual quarks and personalities. Some are more strange than others, but over all, we-are-all-strange. We do strange things and we all have weird tendencies. That is what makes this world so interesting. That’s what makes YOU so interesting.
HOW CAN YOU BUILD CONFIDENCE?
There are many ways you can build self confidence. Once again, every single person is different so what works for you, might not work for someone else. In this post, I am going to give you my Top 3 practices that I have done and still do to this day to keep my confidence high.
- Self Care: I know I know, it sounds silly and cliche, but if you take care of yourself you will simply feel better about yourself. And I don’t mean just slapping on some make up. I am talking long relaxing bubble baths, getting at least 8 hours of sleep, drinking enough water in the day, physically moving and working hard on your body, and feeding yourself the foods that make you feel good.
- Lift up others: Sometimes we are so focused on ourselves that we forget that there are other humans around us that are at times feeling just as blue as we are. We as a community need to do a better job at praising others for the amazing things they do, or frankly just the amazing people they are. Think about it, in most cases, if you tell someone they look pretty today, what is generally their reaction? If they are a nice human, they should give you a big fat smile and thank you for the compliment. That smile is contagious. You are not just going to look at her stone cold, that would be awkward… You are going to smile and say “you’re welcome”.
- Be Productive: Productivity may be a little tiring, but I promise, when you get to the end of the day and you think about all the things you accomplished, you hopefully will be proud of yourself. Ultimately, when you lay your head on the pillow to go to sleep, you will rest easy.
NOT A ONE ‘N DONE
These are not just one and done acts. The more you practice them, the better you will feel, the higher yourself confidence will grow.
And I am going to let you in on a little secret.. Very rarely is anyone thinking about you and how low your self confidence is because they are busy worrying about themselves.
